Fiber Art

The Question/Problem: What do you expect to learn in this family unit; what do you HOPE to learn in this class? What brains of Fiber arts do you bring with you; i.e., what is your general idea about lineament arts, their uses, purposes, role and meanings to muckles lives? When I began hearing about this Common Threads class, I wondered to myself what either was included under the title of fibers. SO coming into this course, I was hoping to understand what defined the class itself…what was Fiber originally use for, and how was it worked into the history that we call art today. When looking into history, fibers were al commissions apply in pieces that defined the artist, however what it doesnt inform us of, is where did it originate, and why. I am anticipating that this course helps to shed some clean-living onto this situation. For far too long has the fibers been kept out of history, but commode it be explained to where we as college students can understand? This is iodin of my biggest issues in which I hope can be end from enrolling in this course. When thinking of what fibers are, one assumes that this means materials used to steel textiles, clothing and a different array of may other things (i.e. Artwork, Tapestries, cloths, and more importantly HISTORY).

My initial thought of the history of fiber art coming into this class, was that of how clothing came to be, but as I project grown to learn, it stretches further than even that. I can assume that when hearing of the ways in which fibers sop up impact the world, I can also assume that it is something that began ages ago when people felt as though trying new things was the way to go. I hope to halt an understanding of what happens when an idea of fitting small threads turns into something immaculate and profound. As I have just begun to study art history in college, I have been very puzzled as to why we never hear anything about fibers.
