Limited Omniscient Narration Introduction Narratives take on various modes in which, the third-person wise, forms the most common mode particularly in sprawling, and epic stories (Card 208). The third-person omniscient narrative mode involves a tale presentation by a narrator with an overarching point of weigh in that he can see and know everything that happens deep down the storys world, including the thoughts and feelings of each character such as in Shadows of a childhood by Elisabeth Galle, and BD 11 1 86 by Joyce Carol Oates. Since these two stories use the third-person omniscient narration mode, they have some similarities as well as differences as explored in this paper. Summary of Shadows of a childhood by Elisabeth Gille This is an autobiographical fiction novel, in which the author, Elisabeth Gille, presents her own childhood in warring environment and under the influence of strong friendship. The misfire lea, in the story, is left in a Bordeaux girls catholic secondary school, with her identity as a Jew was unbroken a secret (Gille 4). Although lea had violent and unstable temper, matchless of the sisters felt a special sympathy for her. Another call friend to Lea was Benedicte, and the two became inseparable friends.

The two girls form a bond when outside of the school, and it ultimately saved Lea from her horrible fears and horrible nightmares. Lea eventually went to live with Benedicte later on the war, and later, the two joined school in Paris (Gille 104). It had so far happened, that before Lea went to live with Benedicte; the sisters who were meant to protect her took her to Paris in search of her parents. In the event of searching for her parents amongst the survivors returning to Paris, Lea met a teenage boy who informed her of the camps realities and convinced her that her parents were neer coming back.
