In these following paragraphs, I will be analyze two renowned poets: Emily Dickinson and Wendell Berry. Emily Dickinsons poem is called A sign up Fellow in the Grass. The Snake is written by Wendell Berry. I believe these two poems are much diametrical than alike.
The poems are different in many demeanors. One way is that Emily Dickinsons poem, the speaker is afraid of the snake. In Wendell Berrys poem the speaker likes snakes. Also, the settings are different. In Berrys poem it is clear that the setting is At the end of October(Berry 297). In Emily Dickinsons poem, one needs to infer the setting from lines. It is well-nigh likely spring or summer because she mentions long eatage and sun. The snake is moving in Dickinsons poem; The stool divides as with a comb-(Dickinson 297). While in Berrys poem, the snake is still, lying in the speakers helping hand; I held him a long time(Berry 297).
Even though the poems are so different, they have a few things in common.
The major similarity is that the subject of two poems is a snake. They both describe how the snake looks. Dickinson describes the snake in this manner; a small snake whose back was patterned with the dark of the exsanguine leaves he lay on(Berry 297).
I liked Emily Dickinsons poem better because I could relate to the subject more than the on in Berrys poem. I colligate to her subject because I am scared of snakes, too. I could never hold a snake like Berrys subject did. I also liked how Emily Dickinson took a romantic look at the snake and its habitat. If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
