HeLa Cells
Henrietta Lacks was born(p) Loretta good-natured in Virginia. Henrietta got married to her cousin David Lacks. They have five children together. Henrietta was a poor erosive woman that was diagnosed with Epidermiod carcinoma of the cervix uteri stage 1 (cervical pubic louse). She went for treatment at Johns Hopkins, a charity hospital that treats black people.
When she went for her first treatment, no one told her TeLinde (one of the top cervical cancer expert in the country) was collecting samples or if she wanted to be a donor. Two dime sized of tissues was sign on from her cervix: one from tumor and other was healthy. The tissues were given to George Gey who was a scientist that is nerve-racking to build immortal cells from cancer cells, the cells taken from Henrietta were abbreviated to HeLa. Gey was born and raised in Pittsburg; he worked as a carpenter and mason to pay his way through biology at University of Pittsburg, Gey and Margaret his wife built their first lab in the janitors quarter at Hopkins.
