In a sm all(a) town in Jena, Louisiana, the town is made up of 90% whites including the District Attorney, judges and heads of all law enforcement. In 2006, a 16 year ageing African American savant was arrested and convicted of two felonies by an all white control panel after an interracial fight at a topical anaesthetic high school. He faces up to 22 years in prison and 5 other African Americans face the same charges. The incidents started when the 17 year old and his friends sit under a white tree at the local high school. They decided to sit under the tree to fare their right to sit under the tree. The next day when they arrived at school nooses were hanging from the tree, this symbolized that African Americans were to be killed, like KKK members would stir done. The principle recommended expulsion, but the white superintendent overruled and gave the boys a lilliputian suspension, and insisted they were only pranks.



Tensions were rising and the when the boys who had become known as the Jena 6, account back to school they were taunted by a white student who had supported the hate crimes, was making racial taunts and name vocation such as niggers. The student was knocked down, punched kicked by the black students. The student was sent to the hospital and released that night to attend a loving function. The boys were arrested and charged with second degree attempted murder, they were in chink for several months and defended by public defenders. The trial was swift; the jury was a make up of 50 whites two of which were friends with the DA.
