My classmates and instructor have left an gross(a) impression on my life and have forever changed my aspect on different cultures than my own. I now realize that cognition is the key to solving many of this acress racial issues. Most Americans know that difference has been the curse of our great country for hundreds of years. In the past, if you were black, you were a slave. If you were a woman, you were a servant of the house. Were you plagued by homosexuality, as they would say, you unrecordedd a life of repression in the darkness of the closet. there was no room at the top for anyone but the uncontaminating male, and the system of structural oppression made sure no one even tried to get up. After all, non-white or female meant inferior.

This is not the truth in our present eon. To live in the past and have the same thinking patterns of the past will scarcely lead our country into destruction. I thank God that I am living in a time where equal rights and opportunity exists. I can only wonder what the face of a minority 100 years ago would look like if they traveled through time and ended up in our classroom on Friday. I would imagine after the initial shock of seeing the change students, he or she would be filled with joy and happiness.
