Polytheism
Polytheism is the doctrine of or whimsy in more than one god, or in many gods. to the highest degree polytheistic religions have certain gods assigned to certain aspects of life. In the ancient Greek religion, for example, the goddess Hera was the god who controlled family and marriage. Polytheism was the most common figure of religion in the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. It politic lives on today in religions such as Hinduism, Shintoism, and Buddhism.
The opinion in multiple gods is probably the result of an earlier impression in vaguely defined spirits, demons, and other nonnatural forces. However, these supernatural forces are personified and organized into a cosmic family. This family becomes the center of a particular cultures belief system. The family of gods was used to explain natural phenomena and to pee-pee a cultures role in the universe. Typically, the number of gods would expand as the cultures belief system developed, eventually resulting in a vertical system of deities. Over time, the lesser gods would become less germane(predicate) or vanish alto studyher.
Many polytheists do not adore all of the gods they believe in equally. There are devil distinct types of polytheists.



There are Henotheists, who specialize in the adore of one particular god, and Kathenotheists, who worship divergent gods at different times. Most polytheists could be classified as Kathenotheist, as most people dont have their lives dedicated to alone one aspect. For example, if one was feeling a bit luckless in love, one would pray to the love god for help. The similar person may likewise be a farmer, and their crops may not be getting enough sun, so they would also pray to the sun god for a better harvest. However, belief in a god does not necessarily have in mind that the god is worshipped.
