The social structure of the Umayyad Dynasty had many different classes. At the top was the caliph ( really powerful leader in the Moslem World). Next the professionals in the society such as doctors, merchants and teachers. The terce class were the protected throng who were a mixed of people of non Islamic origin like Jews and Christians. At the bottom were the slaves in the society.
Political Structure
The political structure of the Umayyad Dynasty was no longer theocratic but to a greater extent of an autocratic and secular type. The point of this regimen was to maintain the privileges of the Arabs.
