I do not think it is attractive that there is so much controversy with same-sex marriage. There is no difference in the marriage then one that is opposite sex. There is no such thing as tralatitious marriage nowadays. I do not really think there is anything traditional anymore. A human being should not be bashed for their sexual orientation. You are either born gay or straight but no one is born a homophobic. They should be allowed to embrace who they are and not have to be ashamed, cause like Lady Gaga says, you were born this way. And we should incessantly be proud of who we are.
Being gay and being allowed to espouse even has many un picturesque set backs. They dont even get access to basic rights such as hospital visitations during an disease or death, taxation and inheritance rights, access to family health coverage, and defense of the relationship ending.
