Womens football in England was pioneered by a woman named Nettie Honeyball. She, in 1894, established the British Ladies Football Club which Lady Florence Dixie, a novelist and committed womens rightist became president of. The British Ladies Football Club was made up of ab divulge 30 young women who Honeyball persuaded to join by pose up an advertisement in the press.
